South Africa v Lions Match Reports

The British & Irish Lions came from behind to beat South Africa 22-17 in the first Test at Cape Town Stadium. The Lions had trailed 12-3 following a frustrating first half in which Handré Pollard punished the tourists' indiscipline with four successful penalty kicks. The second half started more positively for the Lions as Luke Cowan-Dickie touched down from a driving maul. However, Faf de Klerk replied with a try for the Springboks just five minutes later. A sustained period of indiscipline from the hosts then allowed Dan Biggar to kick the Lions into a slender lead, before his replacement Owen Farrell slotted one further penalty in the final minute of the match.
