New Zealand claimed a 40-21 victory over Ireland in their Nations Championship encounter at Eden Park. New Zealand dominated the first half, capitalising on a series of Irish errors to build a commanding lead through tries from Patrick Tuipulotu, Ardie Savea, Will Jordan and Asafo Aumua. Jack Conan briefly reduced the deficit with a converted try after Luke Jacobson was sin-binned, but the All Blacks struck twice in the closing stages of the half to take a 28-7 lead into the break. Ireland made the perfect start to the second half when Joe McCarthy powered over from close range, but Damian McKenzie restored New Zealand's 21-point advantage with their fifth try. Hugo Keenan crossed just after the hour mark to give Ireland hope, before Anton Lienert-Brown finished off a superb move created by Will Jordan in the closing minutes to seal a comfortable All Blacks victory.
