Barbarians v Wales Match Reports

Wales beat the Barbarians 33-31 in a non-cap fixture on a very hot summer's afternoon at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham. Kieran Hardy crossed inside five minutes to give Wales an early lead, but Vincent Koch replied for the Baa-Baas shortly afterwards. Dan Edwards scored and converted Wales' second try in the 24th minute, but the visitors missed a couple of further chances as they held a 14-5 lead at half-time. Edwards collected a long kick through to score again early in the second half. George North then came off the bench for the Barbarians in his final match before retirement and immediately crossed. Replacement scrum-half Reuben Morgan-Williams sold a dummy and sprinted through for Wales' fourth try, but Alex Nankivell responded on the hour mark to cut the deficit. Ellis Mee dotted down for Wales' fifth try before North grabbed his second as the match entered the final 10 minutes. The Barbarians had the final say as Santiago Arata scored deep into stoppage time, leaving North to strike a successful conversion as he bowed out of professional rugby.
