England survived a dramatic finish to beat Argentina 31-24 in Santiago del Estero and end their Nations Championship campaign on a winning note. The visitors made the perfect start when Tommy Freeman crossed after just four minutes. Ben Earl scored twice either side of a Tomas Albornoz penalty as England took control to lead 19-3 at half-time. Argentina cut the deficit after the restart as Mateo Carreras crossed before a penalty try brought the hosts within two points. Marcus Smith and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso replied with tries to put England back in control, despite a flurry of yellow cards leaving the visitors down to 13 men late on.
