Ireland scored five tries as they beat Italy 33-17 in a World Cup warm-up match in Dublin. The visitors were first to score when Tommaso Allan struck an early penalty kick. Ireland then dominated the remainder of the first half scoring three tries – from David Kilcoyne, Caelan Doris and Stuart McCloskey – to lead 21-3 at half-time. After the break, Italy were again first to score with Lorenzo Pani crossing for a try in the 51st minute. Cian Healy scored Ireland's fourth try in the 64th minute as the home side looked to re-establish their dominance. Italy refused to give up and scored a second try through Tommaso Menoncello. Caelan Doris then bagged his second and Ireland's fifth try to seal a fairly comfortable victory for the world's number-one rated side. A selection of match reports is listed below:
