Scott Robertson began his tenure as All Blacks head coach with a hard fought 16-15 victory over England in Dunedin. First-half tries from Sevu Reece and Ardie Savea for New Zealand were countered by a Maro Itoje try and Marcus Smith penalty to see the scores tied 10-10 at half-time. England were first to score after the break when Immanuel Feyi-Waboso's try put the tourists in front. Two penalty kicks from Damian McKenzie put the home side back into a narrow lead with 15 minutes remaining. The All Blacks were awarded another penalty in the 78th minute, but McKenzie ran out of time and failed to kick it.
