Ireland have added 12 players to their squad ahead of next month’s Autumn International series.

The additions see the Irish squad increase to 49 players ahead of international action at the end of the week.

The Ireland A side take on the All Blacks XV on Friday night, before Ireland host world champions South Africa at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

Connacht lock Gavin Thornbury has been called up to the Ireland A squad to replace the injured Tom Ahern, who will miss Friday’s fixture.

Diarmuid Barron, Caolin Blade, Jack Crowley, Shane Daly, Max Deegan, James Hume, Dave Kilcoyne, Marty Moore and Scott Penny have all linked up to join the A squad after competing in the URC over the weekend.

Ulster duo Nathan Doak and Tom Stewart will also join the squad later in the week.
