John Mitchell will act as head coach for the England 'A' fixture against Scotland 'A' in Leicester on Sunday.

Mitchell will step up from his role as Eddie Jones’ number two and defence coach for the one-off match at Mattioli Woods Welford Road that precedes Tests against the USA and Canada.

Jones will resume control for next month’s Twickenham appointments with the Eagles and Canucks and will still have a say when the ‘A’ team is selected on Friday, however.

“Mitch is very good with young players and will pass on his knowledge and experience to this group,” Jones said.

“The team selection will be a collaborative decision and Mitch will be in charge on match day.”
