Ireland scored six tries in a 41-10 win over a spirited Japan side at the Aviva Stadium. The visitors played the more entertaining rugby in the first half but were punished for their indiscipline. After a bright start, Charlie Lawrence was sin-binned for a dangerous tackle, and Ireland capitalised as Jack Crowley crossed for the opening try. Nick Timoney added a second for the hosts, before Kenji Sato replied with a try from a lineout maul. A late penalty saw Japan narrow the deficit to 17-10 at half-time. After the break, Japan's threat faded as Ireland took control of the match.
